B.K. Davis Brings Stevie Wonder Tribute to Texas

Singer and pianist B.K. Davis is bringing his acclaimed Stevie Wonder tribute concert to the heart of Texas.

As part of his Steinway Hall Concert Tour, Davis will perform Wonder’s music in Plano (March 18), Forth Worth (March 19) and Houston (March 20).

The program will include songs like “Knocks Me Off My Feet” (from the 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life) and “Overjoyed” (from 1985’s In Square Circle).

In a posting on his website, Davis discussed the task of creating new arrangements of Wonder’s compositions.

“To reinterpret a piece, you play with it,” Davis said. “You speed it up and slow it down—depending on what you do, you could make it sound like a Baptist hymn or a Jamaican ballet. Music is like water; it’s very easy to move it the way you want. You’ve got 88 keys to work with and a wealth of potential.”

Each concert will be followed by a Q&A session and a meet-and-greet with the artist.

Davis, who is a Steinway International Artist, is a native of Davenport, Iowa. To RSVP for a concert and to learn more details, click here.
